Porches of Hollow Ridge
A Multimedia Universe
Stories don't belong in a single format. Porches of Hollow Ridge is my exploration into 'Universe-Building'—a creative project that blends folklore, dark humor, and serialized content across video, prose, and physical goods. This project represents the culmination of my career-long obsession with narrative architecture: taking a vision and creating an immersive experience that lives on the screen, on the page, and in the community

The Porches of Hollow Ridge
The Narrative Architecture of Hollow Ridge
From serialized blogs to a multi-platform universe.
The Inspiration
My storytelling philosophy is rooted in the tradition of the great raconteurs like Garrison Keillor; the ability to find the profound in the everyday. Throughout my career in banking, I used serialized content (like Furever Home) to turn financial transactions into emotional journeys. Hollow Ridge is the next evolution: a deliberate attempt to move beyond channels and instead build a universe that users can explore across mediums.
The Creative Process
This is a deeply personal project, built in collaboration with my daughter to ensure a multi-generational perspective. Together, we are treating Hollow Ridge as a sandbox for world-building:
-
The Lore: Mapping the town, the history, and the off-kilter characters (like the horoscope-giving Leroy Jackson).
-
The Multi-Media Strategy: Developing a roadmap that includes video shorts, written chapters, and physical merchandise.
-
The 'Invisible' Marketing: By embedding the world-building into our content, we create a story that is genuinely entertaining while serving as a blueprint for how brands can engage with audiences without relying on hard-selling.
The Vision
We are currently in the 'World-Building' phase. This is an invitation to witness the development of a creative property from the ground up. You can explore our evolving visual identity and narrative mood boards here:
